Notes from the Choir March & April

A thank you to everyone who participated in our December Christmas cantata, “Night of the Father’s Love.” Everyone did a wonderful job, and a good time was had by all.
We welcome new choir members Aaron Bravo and Will McCurdy. We bid farewell to Frank Antonetti who has relocated to New Orleans, although we may see him again. We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of Barbara Karrer who sang in our choir several seasons back.

Just a reminder that we always welcome new choir members. If you enjoy singing, whether or not you read music, you are welcome. We have all levels of abilities in the choir from absolute beginners to professionals who sing in the opera chorus or onstage in professional theater. New choir members can be paired with veterans to help learn the music. And we don’t require a year-round commitment. If you can only commit part-time, that’s fine. Or maybe you’re only interested in participating in special events, such as the Christmas and Easter cantatas.

In addition to the Chancel Choir we also have the Balcony Bells under the direction of Christine Vlugt. The Chancel Choir meets on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in the sanctuary. There are no weekday rehearsal unless we have extra (voluntary) rehearsals for special occasions. The Balcony Bells meet on Sundays after the service.

Our choir family is a very special, important part of the church family. And we have fun while learning the music. Please consider joining the Chancel and/or Bell choirs. We would be glad to have you!

Thank You!

David Nagy
