What a wonderful service of celebration we will have on June 24th! We will be welcoming the young people of Halos and Hammers coming all the way from Connecticut. This group is very near and dear to Pastor Meg’s heart, as she started this group in a former church as a way to give back to the community. Halos and Hammers consist of about 40 high school aged kids who volunteer one week of their summer vacation to do home repairs where needed. The group is supervised by a general contractor and can do many jobs, ranging from tiling, painting, roofing, drywall, and concrete, among other things.

If you or anyone you know is in need of home repairs due to damage from Hurricane Irma or any other reason, please contact the church office at 305-759-3445 or by email at dalila@miamishoresucc.org. No job is too large or small to be considered, as we are hoping to keep the group busy for the entire week they will be here. We will also need volunteers to help in donating board games, movies, and in lending things like ping pong tables or foosball games. The kids will be staying in our church Social Hall and we want to make their stay as wonderful as possible.
